Week 2- Class Exercise

There was a lecture on Allegory. It did help in terms of powerful images actually having symbolic meaning behind the images which make them more meaningful. Also, that there are multiple meanings and ways that people can interpret the image with. In terms of my own image I do want it to have more meaning behind the image which makes the image more powerful. I guess it did help to start to think more into the types of subject matter I might want in my triptych.

In class I was tasked with choosing a couple of sentences from the song "White Rabbit" and visualizing what the character should look like. After the one on one I think that I still needed to figure out how to convey my concept in a more non linear way.

Drew up two possible symbols, then looked for some imagery on the computer for inspiration on what other subject matter I could use.

Superheroes are considered strong characters that save the day. Could represent Control in a narrative.

Eagles are strong animals that could represent control within a narrative.

A domino affect could be used as a symbol of falling/being let down or Anxiety.
An image of someone actually falling. Sign of anxiety .
being alone and isolated. A sign of running from problems.

Triptych Research

I like the use of colour and also how each scene links to the other.

I like how its the same story but with a different atmosphere.

I like that all the scences interlink with the cord. Also, the minimal colour usage is interesting.

I like that complex story within each piece. Probably would be hard for me to achieve though.

I like the different types of pattern to change each piece.

I like the use of colour and line work.
